Introduction

Significant changes were experienced in the meat commercialization scheme over the last years in our country. The farmer sells his animals leaving most of the profits generated along the meat-commercialization chain in the hands of others.

In order to revert above mentioned situation, the nucleation of the interested parties in the cattle growth cicles is required, in an attempt to share the results among all participants. This is a well known fact which we as integrants of the Rosenbusch Institute have adopted in our meat program with traceability; introducing a radical change in the traditional commercialization method and inviting farmers to join us.

The program is based on the integration of argentine farmers forming a supply chain of meat to the market place and allowing all members to draw just benefits from the business.

Description

The aim of the program "Carnes Trazadas Pampa Mia" (meat with traceability) is:
"The products of our cattle herds of optimal quality and grown on argentine farms is to be sold to traditional and non-traditional markets. The benefits resulting from the operation will be optimized by the integration of cattle-farmers."

In order to reach the goal, the creation of a differentiated product is required. This singular and special characteristic is reached by the offer of:

• A natural product
• A complete and verifiable traceability
• A product with optimal quality
• A healthy and secure product

Instituto Rosenbusch will adsorb the costs of the animal identification in order to warrant the traceability as well as the required sanitary media (vaccinations, etc.).

The farmer is committed to parctice the Good Manufacturing Proceedures or GMP - norms in which the alimentation, sanitary controls, etc. are fixed in order to reach the high quality standards required by our product.

The benefits of the meat program Carnes Trazadas Pampa Mia are the below indicated:

• The sale of the cattle is made directly without intermediation.
• The support of a registered trademark for meat, allows that the farmer stops the sale of animals and starts to sell prime- quality meat.
• By means of the traceability down to the individual meat-cuts a value added positioning of the product is possible.
• An enhanced security for being able to obtain gains at the end of the comercialization chain.
• A life insurance for the animals, since by means of the electronic identification they become unique individuals.
• The implementation of the GMP allow to create differential characteristics of the cattle herds and the resulting meat cuts.
• Instituto Rosenbusch will carry the costs for the electronic identification.

None of the above mentioned topics will represent additional costs for the farmer, and the only requirement to participate in the program is the documentation of all relevant veterinary-sanitary events affecting his animals.

Associated Members

The main pilars of the program are the cattle farmers which are tied into it by signing a contract with Instituto Rosenbusch, by which a certain amount of animals in an preestablished time frame are committed. All farmers are invited to join us.

In a jointy effort with the Instituto Rosenbusch they are linked into the supply chain of meat to the consumers, assuring the differentiated characteristics of their product.
